Team
After a range of experience working for various asset management companies, I wanted the new challenges that joining a bigger organisation would bring. I was therefore delighted to be able to join the very dynamic Private Client team at Clartan Associés in 2015.
I provide day-to-day support for our clients in the administrative and financial management of their resources. One of the ways in which I can add value for our clients is always to listen and be entirely open to their ideas so that we can rapidly develop the right solutions to achieve their goals.

After a number of experiences in small French asset management companies, I was able to join an international asset management company, Stanhope Capital, and discover the world of private banking. I was keen to move in this direction, and wanted to develop my interpersonal skills, teamwork and transparency, so I spontaneously turned to Clartan Associés, which gave me the chance to try out all these aspects of the business. Subsequently, I was able to experience real cooperation and fluidity in the work within the team, which was very important to me.

After starting in fundamental financial analysis for investors, working with Professor Bertrand Jacquillat at the firm Associés en Finance, I was recruited as an investor by the Allianz group. I soon realised that the constraints involved with this type of structure were not compatible with my own vision of investment. By way of contrast, at Clartan Associés I found a client oriented basic management culture and a continuous searching for product excellence. What is more, I also found that there is a real entrepreneurial spirit at the company, which is still being nurtured, and a company culture where the development of the company and the person go hand in hand.

The major part of my career has been with the bank industry, mainly in the capital markets activities. Twelve years with Bank Indosuez where my last position was Head of Markets Activities of Banque Indosuez London, then twelve years with Credit Lyonnais group, where I had different positions as Head of Capital markets, the last being Credit Lyonnais in UK. In 2000 Nathalie Rachou and I decided to launch Topiary Finance, an asset management company based in London. We innovated with tailor made asset allocation, independent fund picking and fee transparency. At the end of 2014, we merged with Clartan Associés, with whom we share similar values and long term perspectives.

In 2006, after three years at KPMG entrusted with auditing missions and transactions for major international banks (the General Electric capital group, HSBC, Credit Suisse in particular), it was high time for me to play an active part. My project was to find a position where I could give a priority to my three sources of motivation and enrichment: finance, the analysis necessary for decision-making and thirdly, direct contact with clients. Capital management at Clartan Associés fully meets these three criteria. But it was in fact a fourth consideration that led to my decision to join this unique enterprise: the certainty that I would be participating in a human endeavour as part of a high quality team sharing the most important values. At each step of my career, both academic and professional, I have seen how working as a team enriches and has a “levelling-up” effect. It is precisely this spirit that is cultivated in our company. Every member of Clartan Associés contributes to the building of a company with strong, deep roots and which has great potential for growth.

I began my career in the energy industry in 2005 where I worked as a young engineer for the American ConocoPhillips. After several assignments in different countries (Norway, China, and the United States), I switched into market finance in 2014 and joined Alken Asset Management in London as an equities analyst. In 2021, it seemed only natural to join Clartan because I am convinced by the company’s values and business model: a collegiate investment management team specialising in long-term, socially-responsible investment. The stability of the Clartan management team and investment philosophy seem to be major strengths for growing our clients’ capital over the long term.

After graduating in Business Administration at the University of Cologne with special emphasis on investments, I acquired sales experience working at Tecis AG in several positions. In my last position, I was Investment Coach for over 700 financial advisors: I was in charge of technical and sales training in the Western region of Germany. I was in touch with asset managers on a regular basis, which is how I met Clartan Associés in 2012, and grew familiar with the philosophy and investment style of the firm over the years.
I am a lecturer on “investments and financing” at the European University of Applied Sciences in Brühl, and am an examiner at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Cologne.
I joined Clartan Associés in early 2018, to support the German Sales Team. Due to the team size, we all share in responsibilities and competences. I enjoy the ensuing diversity. From the outset, I was particularly attracted by the company’s genuine collegiality, its unique investment style, the flat hierarchy and the family spirit. Tradition of an owner-managed company can go hand in hand with the entrepreneurial mindset of a start-up.

Having started my career with audit and consultancy group PwC, I moved into financial analysis with a well-known private bank in Geneva. I then moved into the world of investment banking in London at a Swiss equity broker, first as an analyst and then as Head of Sales. Having gained experience with a similar company, providing pan-European coverage, in London, I joined Clartan Associés in 2016 in order to strengthen the team at the Swiss subsidiary. Alongside my main professional activity, I teach company valuation at the University of Lausanne, as Course Leader in a Masters programme at HEC Lausanne.
The professionalism of the management team, the collegiate approach to the investment process and its human values all allow Clartan Associés to set itself apart as an investment manager.

After a first experience in a Parisian asset management company, I joined Clartan Associés - where I had previously done my Master's degree internship - as an Investor Relations Manager. I found the know-how and human quality of a team that has been working in equity management for over 35 years. This quest for excellence is combined with an ambition for rigour and collegiality in a long-term perspective. I am in charge of commercial development with our professional partners in France.

After 7 years as the only permanent member of staff of an association, I joined an independent financial management firm. There I learned the basics of the profession: tax advice and personal asset management, asset allocation. It was then that I wanted to join a more heavyweight team and get closer to the product. At Clartan Associés I still prioritise working closely with private clients, placing great emphasis on facilitating their relations with our partners. My overriding objective: taking the client by the hand so that he has no administrative worries, we take care of everything!

Having gained experience with mergers & acquisitions at Lazard, and with a Masters in Finance and Strategy from Sciences Po Paris, I was delighted to join Clartan Associés in March 2013. An earlier internship with the company was a rich and rewarding experience, providing in-depth training in financial analysis. I learnt to share the company’s values of rigorous work, intellectual curiosity, team spirit and a strong business culture, which have become part of my daily life. After receiving AMF certification, I am now in a position to take part in all management decisions. Through my experience in investment banking and auditing I am able to contribute my modelling skills, rapid execution and a fresh approach and new ideas. My special focus is financial analysis, fund management and customer accounts under management contract. Clartan Associés is a serious company that is geared towards excellence and the future. I am delighted to build my professional career here and to participate in the company’s development.

My entire professional career has focused on financial asset management, primarily at Banca Intesa SanPaolo, Oddo BHF and Groupama.
When I met with the teams of Clartan Associés, I discovered a very discreet but extremely professional company, where everything is carefully thought through and implemented for the optimal management of the assets with which we are entrusted. As a result, we are able to build enduring relations with our partners and clients.
This professionalism is combined with a strong collective approach, both in terms of corporate governance and the management process: there is a strong desire to put the intelligence of each of us to work for the common good.
I was also won over by the deep sense of caring of all the staff I encountered.
At the end of my studies and after my first job with an accountancy firm I joined the general secretariat of the company in 2010 (partner management and fund management support). Still at the beginning of my career, I have found both a new professional area of work, capital management, and also discovered the way it is very carefully handled at Clartan Associés. I very much appreciate the independence that I am allowed in the handling of my cases, and also the way all of the work is double checked.

I started my career in a Legal Department at the Ministry of Ecology. With my move to Clartan Associés I have moved from the public to the private sector, from a large structure to a small team and from analysis to operational work. As the interface for institutional clients like Wealth Management Advisors, my days are often full and diverse. Furthermore, I am regularly in contact with them for our commercial presentations. Finally, I am in charge of Internet activities.

After seventeen years spent at a trading desk advising institutional investors in the management of their shares portfolio, I joined Clartan Associés to satisfy my desire to be involved in capital management. I have found at this company an exceptional sense of common purpose, both in-house and externally, and the possibility of working with confidence in a context where time had become my friend. The exchanges we have with those companies in which we may invest and the relationships we maintain with our clients all constitute a richness that is continually being renewed.

After several years abroad with my partner, when I returned to France I spent 9 years assisting company directors in the IT sector and in design offices.
At Clartan Associés, I embarked on a new professional adventure by discovering the financial sector, which enabled me to develop new skills in order control and fund valuation within the middle office team of which I am a member.
I appreciate the values shared by Clartan: rigour, respect for others, team spirit, trust, not forgetting good humour!

I spent the first ten years of my professional career with major financial groups such as Standard & Poor’s, BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank, in German, Swiss, French and Anglo-Saxon environments. In these companies with a global scope I encountered different company cultures, multiple investment styles but above all many changes in company strategy and policy. I joined Clartan Associés in 2011 to take responsibility for developing a branch in Germany. From the start I found the concept and individual style of Clartan Associés, combined with a strong and friendly collegial style, very much to my liking. The professionalism of the managers in terms of management and their close relationship with their clients demonstrated to me very clearly that I had joined a company with values that are rarely found in the majority of today’s financial enterprises.

I joined the ranks of Clartan Associés as an analyst in 2015 following a spell as an intern and my graduation in finance from Sciences Po Paris. My role in the firm is to assist the manager’s team in the scrutiny, valuation and monitoring of the companies that constitute our investment universe. More a craft than a science, valuation obeys principles rather than laws and as is a field of personal fulfillment, an endless quest for perfection. At Clartan Associés I appreciate the investment philosophy combining value investing with team work that limits individual bias. Furthermore, the firm applies rigor and discipline in its decision-making which augurs well for the future and motivates me to take part in its further growth.

After working for an advertising agency for 15 years, I joined Clartan Associés to develop my corporate expertise. I was immediately attracted by the company’s spirit of openness, strong values and the diversity of its team profile. This deeply humane environment and culture of listening to others gives me the feeling that I have been participating fully in a veritable corporate project over the past ten years.

As part of my studies and my professional career, I have worked in a wide variety of sectors –from tourism to community work to retailing – for which it is essential to have a sense of service and organisation, and to be responsive and flexible!
At Clartan Associés, I am responsible for receiving clients, general services and both internal and external events management.
I am especially sensitive to Clartan’s values of collegiality, confidence and transparency, which I strive to apply in my relations with our clients and staff, as well as with our service providers and suppliers.
Working for Clartan is a very motivating and enriching professional and humane adventure!

Starting in 1998, I worked in asset management, in the insurance and banking sectors, in New Caledonia. In January 2002, I decided to leave my job as an executive with Société Générale to set up the independent asset management company JOC Gestion Privée.
At the 2005 Patrimonia conference, I met Michel Legros, who made me aware of Clartan Associés. Attracted by the quality of its management and the human values of its teams, I sought out a partnership, which has steadily grown over the intervening years. For me the crisis of 2008 firmly confirmed my belief in the solid foundations of the method and philosophy of Clartan Associés.
In 2013, wanting to develop my professional status, I suggested to Clartan Associés that we should strengthen our partnership through the creation of a linked agent mandate. This new set-up came into effect a few months later and, despite the distance between us, I now have the pleasure of working with the talented teams at Clartan Associés every day.
A six month work placement at the end of my ESTP engineer training was an early opportunity to get to know this “shop”, as the Anglo-Saxons say. The company had only five members of staff at the time, was managing 20 million Euros and they used the Minitel to consult the prices! The human scale of the company, its reactivity, team spirit, a long-term view of client service and the entrepreneurial project really did win me over.
So I went back to Clartan Associés, after two years auditing at KPMG, in 1999; from certification to analysis of accounts, with in-depth studies of companies and an understanding of their DNA. A vast and lively universe of investment has been opened up to me. My taste for investigative work is today still as strong as ever.
I have not looked back since that time, still with the same values and the same prioritisation on the interests of the client; the shares being managed exceed the billion Euros, and Clartan Associés is more than 30 persons.

I joined Clartan Associés after an internship at the end of my studies. After gaining professional experience in wealth management and then asset management, it was only natural that I should take my place in Clartan Associés’ private clients team. I particularly enjoy the quality of the relationships formed with clients and the excellence built into the fund management process, as well as the caring atmosphere in the company.

After an initial experience with a performing arts company, where I was in general accounting for nearly three years, I began working for the back office of Clartan Associés in December 2013. I am part of the team that is responsible for retrocessions and fund management. Right from the start, I appreciated the company’s outlook, which combines methodological rigour, team spirit, and autonomy for each employee.

After 10 years working in textile purchasing I wanted a change of direction in my professional career, which I achieved by joining Clartan Associés in 2004. As part of the private client management centre I am one of the contacts for private clients, at the administrative level. I make sure that the clients' requests receive a rapid reply and are dealt with quickly and that their accounts are managed rigorously. I attach particular importance to continuous improvement of our procedures and internal systems. My daily concern: making sure that the client feels recognised and that we are attentive.

I worked for the BNP Paribas group for fifteen years before joining Clartan Associés in 2011. At each step of my career I have looked, as far as possible, for a supportive human environment, membership of a team that I respect and activities that combine analysis and contacts. My arrival at Clartan Associés has an extra dimension in that I am asked to fit in with a rather special form of organisation, with a degree of rigour and professionalism corresponding to the responsibilities of capital management for third parties, and a philosophy of sustained service that entails a long-term view. My training as an engineer and my professional experience in management control and looking after the clients of large multinational companies means that I am able to contribute to financial analysis and relations with our professional and institutional clients. Finally, I like to think that my British nationality adds a certain exotic island touch.

After graduating from HEC Lausanne, I had the good fortune of joining Clartan Associés in 2021, where I am responsible for analysing the companies that make up our investment universe. I also provide commercial services for our Swiss clients. I was immediately won over by Clartan’s values, especially the focus on teamwork, investment excellence and client relations. The collective approach to long-term ethical investment seems to be the best formula for generating sustainable value.

After studying literature, and having gained a degree in English Language, Literature and Culture, I realised that a sense of service was very important to me. I began my career in the hotel industry, where customer satisfaction, flexibility, teamwork and foresight were all essential. Enthused by these five years of customer service, I have found the same pleasure in my work since joining Clartan Associés. I am mainly responsible for managing the physical and telephonic welcome extended to our clients and other visitors and organising a number of company events. I also enjoy helping the private management team with the management of their files. I have been particularly impressed by the focus of attention on our clients, the independence I enjoy and the caring and friendly relationship between staff. Clartan Associés is a company that bases its business culture on values that I hold dear and that I am pleased to share.

After my studies I worked for various companies in posts with different functions, such as client relations, sales administration and accountancy. Since 2006 I have been working as an assistant at Clartan Associés in a variety of different roles, client reception, the administrative processing of Private Client Management files as well as taking part in some commercial events. In my view Clartan Associés is a very human company as it pays a great deal of attention to its staff. In my case, returning from maternity leave, I was able to resume my activity on a part-time basis so that I could still spend as much time as possible with my daughter. I greatly appreciate this arrangement, as it allows me a balance in my life that is very motivating.

After my degree in business administration I started my career in accounting and finance, first with an NGO and later in a bank. I then worked for several years as an editor and freelance journalist at the foreign language sector of a public media company in Germany. I joined the team of Clartan Associés in Germany in 2014. In particular, I am responsible for the back office and the organisation of events in Germany, which I also supervise on site. So I have the opportunity to be in constant contact with our customers and partners, to find out immediately their wishes and concerns in order to meet them at best. This customer focus is also the main objective of the whole team at Clartan Associés: the constant effort toward excellence in order to offer the best to our clients and partners. This is favored by a workplace environment based on collegiality with a good balance between teamwork and the autonomy of each team member.
